Stephen Fallows of Rural Consulting and Norman Oches of Mountain Wine Growing propose a paper for the 4th International Wine Tourism Conference.

Wine tourism in the USA
is a multibillion dollar industry, with most wineries, both large and small, having extensive tasting rooms, event facilities, education programs and other activities. Norman Oches and Stephen Fallows, with their extensive background in the international wine industry, are analyzing the current methods European wineries are employing -- particularly those of the lesser known but upcoming wine areas of
Europe -- to attract the American wine tourist. A pilot research project was carried out in
Umbria in June 2011 to aid in this analysis. Oches and Fallows are looking for ways European wineries can better meet American wine tourist expectations, gain a larger share of one of the world’s most affluent segments of global wine tourism market, and at the same time avoid losing their unique European wine culture identity in the process.
The proposed presentation will include:
1. An analysis of wine tourism and how it compares to European wine tourism.
2. A analysis of American attitudes and expectations when visiting European wineries.
3. A analysis of the challenges and opportunities facing the smaller European wine regions when trying to attract U.S. tourism dollars (using Umbria as one example).
4. A discussion of how attracting more American wine tourists can not only increase a European winery’s income, but can add to the winery’s bottom line with little or no increase in actual wine production capacity.

Nesta ocasión o proxecto será realizado pola empresa audiovisual Galega Mister Mixto e traera a Galiza a 25 xoves de Estonia, Bulgaria, Reino Unido e Portugal ,para realizar un intercambio na area audiovisual. O proxecto ten como tema central o ano olímpico e o deporte como ferramenta para promover a cidadanía activa e a inclusión social dos xoves. Os participantes empregarán como medio para expresar as súas ideas e inquedanzas o audivisual. | | |

| | | Inaugurado o Centro de Formación e Promoción do Turismo na Matola, Mozambique
Dentro do Proxecto Turimatola I financiado pola Dirección Xeral de Cooperación Exterior da Xunta de Galicia e xestionado por Rural Consulting, foi inaugurado o Centro de Formación e Promoción do Turismo emprazado na cidade da Matola, nun edificio cedido polo Conselho Municipal para este fin.
O acto acudiu a presidenta do Conselho e representantes do sector Turistico e da Cooperación Exterior. Este centro que será ampliado no presente ano cun novo proxecto denominado TURIMATOLA II, aspira a converterse nun espazo de refencia para o sector turístico Mozambicano e nel poderán formarse guías turísticos, artesans e cociñeiros, o centro contará tamén cun programa mensual de eventos musicais e artísticos.
Os beneficiarios deste proxecto serán principalmente os xoves e as mulleres da Matola e das áreas rurais circundantes. | | |
